Comic 34

13 May 2011 Lately, I’ve gotten into a number of non-standard board games, such as Settlers of Catan, Zombies!!!, Pandemic, and Arkham Horror, along with a list of games I still want to buy/play (Munchkin, Power Grid, Acquire, among others). According to other people, I have become a board game elitist. The only issue with this comes when I try to introduce others to these games: when asked what the game is about, I’m forced to distill the concept into a sentence or two. “Oh, it’s a cooperative board game based on the writings of a 1930’s American Horror writer where characters are forced to endure sanity-testing monsters and events.” (Arkham Horror) It really wins them over.
